|Title||Make a House a Home With Feather Pillows|
|Description||It's come to that time again where the evenings are drawing in and it’s time to dig out that winter wardrobe. Weekends will no longer be spent half naked in the garden with a cold one by your side; instead they will be filled with warm fires and cosy nights in. During the colder months I like to make my home feel more homely, add a few finishing touches to certain rooms, some even completely redecorate. Follow these quick and simple ideas on how to change your living space…
Window Seats - If you're lucky enough to have large window alcoves consider a window seat with storage underneath, efficient yet stylish. Luxe it up with plenty of feather pillows and pretty fabrics. Perfect for curling up with a nice hot chocolate and watching the rain hit the window.
Fresh cut flowers - Simple yet effective, they brighten up any room.
Add some candles - Candles and winter go hand in hand for me and I am always burning away my favourite winter scents while I snuggling up between some comfy feather pillows with a blanket and a good book.
A touch of paint! - A touch of paint can go a long way and even dramatically change the face of the room. Add a few coats of a neutral colour to bring life and light to dull and dated rooms.
Change of style - If you’re a dab hand at sewing, why not reupholster that old chair or sofa? Forking out for a new sofa is expensive at the best of times but with the winter months drawing closer to Christmas, it's save, save, save! All you need to do is buy a fabric of your choice. I'd suggest you going for a heavy duty fabric that will stand the test of time. If your sofa has broken springs or lack of padding add some wadding or a piece of foam, this should add a bit of added comfort and make do till it's time to get a new one. There is nothing more relaxing than kicking back with a blanket and enjoying a good black and white film, so add some throws to curl up in and while you’re there, add some feather pillows to sink into. Heavenly!
Lastly the most important room of the house...the bedroom. You will spend the majority of your time in this room, therefore it is key to have a great space so you can kick back and relax and get that 8 hour beauty sleep you desperately need after a long day. First things first; tidy! That pile of clothes on your floor from last weekend’s try ons before you went out; put them away. If they are clean hang them back up or if they’re dirty toss them into the laundry bin. Small things make the big differences. When it comes to the actual bed, personal preference plays a big part but I love to have a nice soft mattress, a big thick duvet and mounds of pillows to sink into.
